Corrections and removals

We list west-side businesses because we think people should know about them — not because anyone paid us. If we’ve got something wrong about yours, or you’d rather not be listed at all, just tell us.

Ask us to fix something

Email aloha@westoahu.org with:

  • the name of the business or event
  • what’s wrong
  • what it should say

Corrections are free, and you don’t need to explain yourself. If you’re the owner and our hours, address, phone number, or description are off, your word is good enough for us.

Ask us to remove your listing

Email the same address and ask, and we’ll take it down. You don’t need a reason. We’d rather have a smaller directory that every business is happy to be in.

What we aim for

We try to acknowledge within a couple of days and fix or remove within a week. This is a one-person community project, not a company with a support desk, so please be patient if it takes a little longer — but it will get done.

How we research listings

So you know what you’re correcting: every listing is compiled from public sources — the business’s own website and social accounts first, then official or venue pages, then directories. We record where each fact came from and how confident we were, and we deliberately leave a field blank rather than publish a guess. Nothing here is scraped and dumped; a person checked it.

That still isn’t the same as asking you. If we never contacted you and you’d like us to before we publish anything else about you, say so and we’ll note it.

Copyright and other complaints

If you believe something here infringes your copyright or another right, email the address above with enough detail to identify the material and we’ll review it promptly.
